A TEENAGER has died after a botched cosmetic surgery procedure left her with a blood clot in her lung.
Maythe Rudek Garcia was only 17 years old when she chose to undergo the terrible treatment that took her life.
The teen’s family has not revealed the nature of the operation, however she did suffer from a pulmonary embolism.
Maythe was brought to a hospital in her home country of Brazil, but she was unable to be saved from the deadly clot.
Teenagers under the age of 18 in Brazil are required by law to obtain parental authorization before undergoing surgery.
She was the daughter local businessman Marcos Garcia and her mother Maria da Graca Sicuro Rudek was once a candidate to be mayor of Contenda in southern Brazil.
Maythe arrived at hospital in a critical condition after being rushed from the cosmetic clinic by ambulance.
A friend of the family told local media: “She went for a cosmetic procedure and the surgery ended up going wrong.
“She had a pulmonary embolism, she ended up dying. The family did not reveal what the procedure was.”
Another pal added: “Maythe was always liked and loved by everyone. Always worrying about helping other people and doing good.
“Her absence will leave a gap that will never be filled. What will ease the pain of longing that everyone will feel for her will be the moments spent with her.”
“May her soul find eternal rest and may God comfort the hearts of family and friends in this time of pain.”
She was buried on September 6 at the Serrinha Cemetery in Contenda.
The COC Araucaria College where she studied expressed their condolences.
The school said: “It is with deep sadness that we report the passing of Maythe Rudek Garcia, our former student of Terceirao 2022.
