Just eight months after announcing their engagement, NBA player Ben Simmons and Maya Jama are apparently no longer together.
Since Maya lives in London and Ben is located in Brooklyn, the 28-year-old TV presenter and her 26-year-old NBA player partner Ben are believed to have struggled with the difficulties of a long-distance relationship. A source informed the New York Post that the couple’s work schedules were another reason for their separation since they made it “hard to work” for their relationship.
The source said: “While they both care for each other so much, they truly gave it their all and realize they just come from two different worlds. They now understand they don’t have the time they thought to dedicate to this relationship.”
According to the insider, the pair has gone through a “tough time” together and has had numerous “heartfelt chats.” They continued: “They had no idea the difficulties they would have while managing all the practicalities of establishing a joint existence in two nations.”
According to reports, the couple’s hectic schedules and regular travel made their relationship “difficult to work,” which forced them to make “one of the hardest decisions of their lives.” There is reportedly still “a lot of love” between the two, and they want to stay friends and involved in one another’s life.
Laura Whitmore announced her departure from hosting Love Island last month, and Maya has been tipped to take over. Maya is known for co-presenting BBC One’s Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer and anchoring her own Radio 1 show from 2018 to 2020. She is also a bookies’ favourite to front ITV’s Big Brother revival when it hits screens in 2023.
