A 62-year-old man who missed a connecting flight at O’Hare Airport and went missing for six days has been discovered safe, according to his family.
Since Wednesday, Matthew Fryslie had been missing. He allegedly failed to board the connecting flight from O’Hare yesterday that would have taken him home to Iowa.
Later on Friday, his passport was discovered in the Uptown neighborhood’s 4400-block of North Sheridan Road.
Then, on Sunday evening, they learned that he had been arrested, sent to Swedish Hospital, and later released on Monday morning.
Fryslie’s brother said on Wednesday that a kind stranger saw him sitting on a bench and assisted him in getting to the hospital, where he has since been admitted.
