The National Highway Authority (NHA) claims that the melting of a sizable glacier has caused the Kaghan-Naran road to be closed to all types of traffic.
According to an NHA representative, work is being done to clear the road and remove glaciers at Chitta Katha along Naran Road. The route has also been blocked by a sizable glacier at Guriya Chinch Naran; once this glacier has been removed, work will start.
The Tourism Authority’s spokesman, Muhammad Saad, advised tourists to use caution when visiting the Kaghan and Naran valleys and to stay away from Naran.
The district administration, NHA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Department, Tourism Authority, and Kaghan Development Authority are cooperating to give priority to clearing the road of the melted glacier in order to ensure the security of tourists.
Tourists can call the tourism helpline at 1422 for information or in an emergency. The spokesperson for the Tourism Authority frequently posts updates on tourism awareness on social media.
