One of Vladimir Putin’s top officials was discovered dead in strange circumstances after purportedly falling from a tower block window.
A bystander found Marina Yankina, 58, at the front of a home in St. Petersburg; it is thought that she died after falling 160 feet.
Yankina oversaw a Kremlin division that was in charge of raising money for the Ministry of Defense, notably in relation to the conflict in Ukraine.
Her untimely passing is simply the most recent in a long list of intimate associates of Putin who have perished mysteriously.
Before becoming the deputy chairman of the Property Relations Committee of St. Petersburg, Yankina was employed by the Federal Tax Service.
Her death was initially reported as being suspected to be a suicide, however in Russia, this administrative classification is frequently applied when the cause of death is unknown.
The woman is thought to have been in charge of attempting to raise money from fresh sources for Putin’s struggling forces in Ukraine, many of whom are poorly equipped to fight.
In an increasingly desperate move, Mad Vlad has even resorted to commuting the sentences of inmates in exchange for their participation in the conflict.
Early reports from the scene of Yankina’s death indicated that the structure was not her home, despite the discovery of personal items on the building’s 16th level, where it is believed she fell to her death.
As one of the most powerful women in the Leningrad region, Yankina’s status allowed her to become friendly with important officials.
According to the Atlantic magazine, 38 Russian billionaires and oligarchs with ties to the Kremlin passed away under odd or suspicious circumstances between 2014 and 2017.
The term “Sudden Russian Death Syndrome” is used to characterise this phenomenon.
