Following a terrifying golf buggy crash that claimed his wife’s life while they were on their honeymoon, the grieving husband is now in court on charges of causing death by careless driving.
Initially classifying the tragedy on Hamilton Island, Australia, as an accident, Queensland Police have since charged Robbie Awad with the offences following reports that he had made a U-turn in the buggy prior to the accident, which left Marina Hanna with fatal injuries.
Just 10 days before to the horrific collision that claimed Hanna’s life on June 20 of this year, the couple had celebrated their love with a lavish ceremony in Sydney.
At Proserpine Magistrates Court today, a grieving Awad, 30, entered a not guilty plea to the accusation of driving without necessary care and attention resulting in death (Monday, December 5).
He gushed: “My heart is devastated and my life is shattered with the awful death of the most beautiful girl in the world,” in a tribute to his deceased 29-year-old wife.
“My angel, my saint, my wife Marina Hanna. My rock, my partner, my confidant, my angel, my saint, my everything! The world will never be the same. I will love you forever and ever and ever.”
