10-year-old girl named Maria is suspected raped and killed in a private swimming pool in Lahore’s Sharifpura neighbourhood, close to the Manawan police station.
The first information report (FIR) indicated that Maria, along with his brother and her younger sister, went to a private swimming pool and afterwards went missing. The family was informed by Ali Raza, the owner of the private pool, that the daughter had gone to her house; but, despite extensive searching, the family was unable to locate the girl.
According to the FIR, after returning to the pool, the family learned that the daughter had drowned and had been transported to the hospital.
The girl was brought to the hospital dead, according to the hospital administration. The parents filed a report with the Manawan police station alleging that their daughter had been raped and killed.
The police have only recently filed a FIR, despite the parents’ claims to the public that Maria was “murdered” on Saturday. Along with the body of the dead girl, the family and locals protested and stopped the Ring Road.
According to the police, a suspect was detained in connection with the girl’s alleged murder, and additional research is being done.
Ali Raza, the main suspect, was reportedly taken into custody by Manawan police officers. In response to the brother of the deceased girl’s allegation, a murder case was opened.
