According to reports, a guy who fatally killed his estranged girlfriend in front of their three young children has turned himself in to Brazilian police.
On December 9, Marcelo de Souza Santos was detained by Rio de Janeiro state police in Belford Roxo in connection with the fatal shooting of his ex-girlfriend Ana Beatriz Ramos da Silva.
After a disagreement at her home in the nearby Duque de Caxias, the suspect informed authorities he had killed her earlier that day.
It’s thought that the kids ran into the street and shouted to their neighbours that their mother had been killed.
According to reports in the local media, Santos originally fled before turning himself in to police at the Campos Elisios police station.
When their three children were being collected, one of the nine-year-olds yelled: “My mom is gone! My mother was murdered by my dad!”
Another boy and a young girl are the couple’s additional offspring.
The cousin claimed Ana Beatriz had been with Santos for nine years but had ended their relationship in August due to his violent tendencies.
She allegedly informed authorities of Santos’ actions and the existence of a restraining order.
Santos, though, is said to have been dissatisfied with the split and had refused to accept it.
It occurs after a father in Brazil admits killing his four children with a pillow and a knife as “revenge” on their mother.
The bodies of the children, who were three, six, eight, and eleven years old, were discovered on Tuesday in the suspect’s Alvorada residence.
The following morning, early, David da Silva Lemos, 28, was taken into custody in a hotel in nearby Porto Alegre.
He claimed to have given the kids “tea” to calm them down before choking and stabbing them with a knife and a pillow.
The grandmother of the children thinks he killed the kids to exact “revenge” on their mother, whom he had recently divorced.
