After being kicked out of a WhatsApp group, Herbert Baitwababo took legal action by suing the group’s administrator. In Uganda’s capital city of Kampala, the magistrate heard the case.
According to Baitwababo, he wrote to the group’s administrator, Allan Asinguza, on May 16, 2023, requesting an audit report and transparency regarding the funds gathered from registered members since the group’s founding in 2017.
According to Baitwababo, the “Buyanja My Roots” WhatsApp group was initially started to support individuals, support charitable causes, and offer condolences.
He added that the organization’s primary goal was to help those living in the Buyanja sub-county in the Rukungiri district. Its primary objective was to provide assistance and support to local residents.
