This morning, a MAN performed a breath-taking stunt by climbing The Shard in London.
Just before 6am, the climber started his ascent of the 1,017-foot tower, which is the tallest structure in the UK.
In an effort to get him to come down, police, paramedics, and firefighters flocked to the area near London Bridge Station.
Rail customers were also restricted from the region.
Police later reported that a 21-year-old male was taken into custody on trespass allegations.
On suspicion of producing a public nuisance, two further individuals were detained.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 5.38am on September 4 following reports of a climber on the Shard.
“Officers, London Ambulance Service and London Fire brigade all attended.
“A number of cordons were in place while emergency services responded to the incident.”
Today’s risky incident comes after a similar feat in 2019, when George King-Thompson came close to climbing the 95 stories of the Shard in under an hour.
Later, a six-month sentence in a juvenile offender facility was given to the then-20-year-old.
Italian architect Renzi Piano created The Shard, which is located on the South Bank of the River Thames and is visible from 50 miles away.
On the 72nd floor, it has the tallest public viewing platform in Britain, along with offices, restaurants, and a hotel.
It is the tallest structure in Western Europe and Britain at 1,107 feet (310 metres), ranking 96th in the globe.ma
