The 12-year-old died from burns after a father set him on fire because he wasn’t studying.
The fatal tragedy happened on September 14 in the port city’s Orangi Town neighbourhood.
Shaheer’s father, Nazir, burned him with oil and a match after discovering that he hadn’t completed his schoolwork.

Shaheer was brought to the Qatar Hospital and then moved to the burn unit of the Civil Hospital, where he passed away after a 35-hour battle for life.
Two days after her son’s passing, the mother brought a lawsuit against her husband.
After the accused was taken into custody by the police, he admitted that his son had been absent from school for a few days. He claimed that after lighting a match and putting kerosene oil on his son to frighten him, he unintentionally caught fire. Nazir continued, “As soon as I heard my baby screaming, I immediately transported him to the hospital.”
The cops claim that Nazir questioned his kid about his studies after Shaheer asked his father to fly a kite. Shaheer did not respond, which infuriated his father.
The suspect was brought before a judicial magistrate’s court, where he was formally accused of the crime and given to the police for physical detention until September 24.
