A hotel fire claimed the lives of eight Pakistani pilgrims who were in Makkah for Umrah. The Pakistan Foreign Office confirmed the fatalities and reported that six additional people had been hurt in the fire.
The districts of Kasur in Punjab and Vehari were home to the victims. Riaz Gujjar, his wife, his mother-in-law, Haji Ashraf, and his maternal grandfather are all listed as family members. On Ibrahim Khalil Road in Makkah, the fire started on the third floor of a multi-story building.

Nine Pakistani nationals, including women and children, were killed and five others were hurt in a tragic traffic accident last month in Saudi Arabia.
