Maiky Simeon wrong-way driver who had his licence suspended over ten years prior struck a car head-on and murdered five people on a Florida interstate.
Around 4:30 on Saturday morning, Maiky Simeon, 30, struck a Honda sedan head-on while operating an Infiniti sedan in the westbound lanes of the Palmetto Expressway close to Miami.
The sedan’s four female occupants and one male occupant, who ranged in age from 18 to 25, were all killed in the collision, according to the authorities. None of them have been named in the media.
Images taken at the scene reveal that both cars were severely damaged when they came to rest in the road.
Simeon suffered serious injuries in the collision and is still being treated in the hospital as authorities strive to determine his exact location.
Simeon was stopped for driving 109 miles per hour in 2014, and since then, according to the Miami Herald, he hasn’t had a valid driver’s licence.
Despite this, records reveal that he kept on driving and accumulating traffic infractions, such as speeding, running red lights, and failing to yield at a junction.
He was described as “psychotic” and “obsessive” by a previous girlfriend, according to the site, who requested a restraining order against him.
