A hybrid-electric aircraft manufacturer with headquarters in the US, Odys Aviation, has started operations in the UAE. To cut emissions by 76%, the company will produce electric air taxis that run on carbon-free fuels. By 2027, the aircraft will be visible in UAE airspace.
The electric aircraft will have a range of 1200 km and be able to travel 320 km entirely on electricity. Additionally, the air taxi will be able to reduce carbon emissions across the entire GCC by 76%.
According to the Ministry of Economy, the project is a part of Odys Aviation’s NextGen FDI program. Odys specializes in producing hybrid electric aircraft for carrying people, and goods, and responding to emergencies.
People will be able to use the cutting-edge facility in 2027 after a full-scale prototype is launched in 2025.
