This week is expected to see further closures on the M23. The closures are being put in place so that repairs may be made to the part of the motorway that is northbound just past Surrey.
The closures will occur over the course of one night, starting on Monday, August 22, from 9 p.m. and ending at 5.30 a.m. The route will reopen at 6 a.m. on Wednesday after being closed again on Tuesday (August 23) at 9 p.m.
From the M23’s junction 8 on the northbound side up to the A23 near Hooley, the road will stay closed. The M25 anticlockwise connecting road will also be closed at junction 7.
The connection road and carriageways’ closures tonight will make it possible to make necessary structural repairs. The fixes made on Tuesday will allow for “joint replacement work” to be done.
Highways England may establish detours while the closures are in effect. The diversion route has not yet been disclosed, so drivers should check the specifics of their trip before they travel
