A three-year-old toddler died after falling from a shopping center’s fourth storey in front of his frightened father.
When he died on Monday after falling 50 feet, young Luan Vaz Moraes was visiting the Erico Verssimo mall in Cruz Alta, Brazil.
According to the neighbourhood fire station, the child fell from the fourth level and landed in the basement.
When the emergency services arrived to the scene at around 2.30 pm, they discovered Luan suffering from extremely grave wounds.
Despite being rushed to the Sao Vicente de Paulo Hospital, he tragically passed away.
The small child and his father, who were both tourists in the area, were reportedly at the shopping centre.
According to rumours in the area, Luan fell while the two were waiting for a bus while walking through the mall.
To ascertain whether there was any negligence, investigators are looking into how Luan ended up falling.
According to sources, the shopping center’s owner, Mario Bisso Otero, sent his condolences to the family and pledged to assist the inquiry.
It follows the terrible death of a toddler who fell from a balcony on the 29th story of an apartment building in New York.
As the awful event took place, the three-year-upset old’s mother reportedly yelled “my baby, my baby” from the street below.
When police arrived at the Taino Towers apartment building in Harlem in response to a 911 call, they found the child’s lifeless body on scaffolding on the third story.
The boy was sent to a local hospital where doctors declared him dead, according to the authorities. He was dressed in diaper and a yellow T-shirt.
