According to a recent report, the federal government has declared that there won’t be any load shedding during the Eid-ul-Adha holidays. To aid in this decision, the Ministry of Energy has asked distribution companies for information on power generation and consumption.
Citizens who have been suffering from protracted power outages amid extreme heat will receive relief if the government can manage it. Power distribution firms have reported a 6,300-megawatt shortage.
Currently, there is a 26,900-megawatt total demand for electricity, but only a 20,600-megawatt total supply is being produced. A total of 7,900 megawatts of electricity are being produced by the national grid, with an additional 7,700 megawatts coming from independent power producers.
It should be noted, though, that the current crisis is made worse by the fact that the amount of electricity produced by nuclear power plants is only 3,130 megawatts.
