According to reports, a Georgia mother of three and former pageant queen was detained in the Bahamas for reportedly plotting to murder her divorced husband, a former Auburn University football star.
Lindsay Shiver, 36, was apprehended when Bahamian police happened across her alleged plot to murder her husband, Robert Shiver, 38, while investigating another case, according to Bahamas Court News.
Terrance Bethel, 28, identified as Lindsay Shiver’s lover by the publication, and Faron Newbold were also arrested in the suspected hit scheme.
While searching the phone of a suspected burglar at Grabber’s Bar and Grill in Great Guana Cay, Bahamas, earlier this month, local police discovered texts detailing the scheme.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether the phone belonged to Shiver, Bethel, or Newbold.According to a source acquainted with the matter, Robert and Lindsay Shiver own a home in the Bahamas near where she met her accused lover Bethel.
Robert Shiver, an Auburn Tigers snapper from 2006 to 2008, filed for divorce after discovering his wife was having an affair with Bethel, according to the publication.
According to the publication, Lindsay Shiver was named Miss Houston County in 2005 and finished second in the National Peanut Festival pageant that year.According to WTVY, she allegedly bribed a would-be hitman to carry out the murder after her husband filed for divorce.
Lindsay Shiver, Bethel, and Newbold were arrested and taken from Guana to the Caribbean country’s capital, Nassau.
They appeared in court on Friday but were not compelled to enter a plea, according to the publication.
The trio is scheduled to appear in court again on October 5.
Lindsay Shiver’s Instagram stated that the couple met in 2007 during a fitness class at Auburn University.
“I’m grateful for that fitness class 13 years ago that brought us together, as well as all of the love, laughter, and life we’ve created since then!” I adore you, baby. “Cheers to many more,” Lindsay Shiver wrote in the caption of a 2020 post that included a variety of photographs, one of which showed them on their wedding day.
Robert Shiver signed as a free agency with the Atlanta Falcons after his time at Auburn University, but was released before the start of the 2009 season.
In Thomasville, Georgia, he is identified as the executive vice president of Senior Life Insurance Company.
