Lindsay Lohan broke the news on Tuesday morning.
The Mean Girls star’s rep confirmed to DailyMail.com that she is expecting her first child with her husband of almost a year, Bader Shammas.
‘We are very excited for our new family member to arrive and we are looking forward to this next chapter of our lives!’ said the 36-year-old.
She was last photographed on February 9 at the Christian Siriano runway show in New York. The Parent Trap actress wore loose clothing that covered her tummy at the time.
Her most recent Instagram posts have been neck and up, as she has avoided showing her midsection in order to conceal her pregnancy.
Lohan shared a photo of a white baby onesie with the words “coming soon” on the front on Instagram.
‘We are blessed and excited!’ she wrote in the caption.
And there were several emojis, including a prayer and a heart, followed by a baby’s face and a baby bottle.
After announcing their engagement in November 2021, Lohan and Shammas married in July 2022.
Parenthood appears to have preoccupied the Herbie: Fully Loaded star for many years.
Lohan told Vanity Fair in 2016 that she aspired to be a mother one day.
The topic came up when she stated that she wanted to spend the next decade “making more films, writing my book, starting my charity, working with children.”
She then added, ‘Maybe having some of my own soon – after I get some movies done first.’
She later stated that she was open to adopting children.
‘I’ve always said that I would love to have two or four kids, but I have no plans to start my own family yet,’ she said in July 2018.
‘I think I’d rather adopt a child first.’
This happy news comes shortly after her former friend Paris Hilton, with whom she partied in the 2000s, announced the birth of her first child.
The 42-year-old DJ announced in January that she and husband Carter Reum had given birth to a son named Phoenix via surrogate.
