Recent price increases for new electricity connections have been announced by Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO). A single-phase electricity connection will now cost between Rs. 7,400 and Rs. 93,000, up from the previous price of Rs 4,000, according to LESCO notification.
The price range for those looking for a three-phase electricity connection has increased from Rs. 16,000 to Rs. 33,500 to Rs. 235,000. The public and nearby businesses are concerned about this sharp increase in fees because they weren’t expecting it to be so significant.
The new prices are causing consumers to worry that they may further stretch their already tight budgets. The public is eagerly awaiting further explanations from LESCO regarding the implementation and relief for low-income households and small businesses as the new tariffs go into effect.
