On his prominent YouTube channel, Leo Rex, a self-described “masculinity biohacker,” once referred to himself as the “foremost specialist in penis enlargement.” Leo Rex inexplicably passed away Monday inside his residence in Pattaya, a city on the coast of Thailand.
Rex’s cause of death hasn’t been released by the local police, but the information they have provided paints a gruesome picture that suggests the American influencer may have been brutally murdered after a fight.
Rex, whose real name is Laith Abdallah Algaz, was allegedly discovered face down in a restroom with cannabis, antidepressants, bipolar disorder medicine, sleeping pills, and “muscle-boosting antibiotics” nearby. When police came, he was naked except for a black shirt, had a black eye, and blood was still “streaming from his lips and nose,” according to Bangkok Business News.
According to a local publication, ASEAN NOW, Pattaya police chief Kunlachart Kunlachai claimed that Rex’s residence appeared to have been ransacked and that there were goods all around the bedroom and bathroom.
Rex’s death was reportedly discovered by a buddy who used a spare key to break into the locked flat after not hearing from the influencer. Cops calculated that by the time they arrived, he had been dead for about five hours.
Sombat Kaewmulsuk, a captain for Pattaya police, said officers were checking security footage and conducting interviews, the Daily Mail reported.
“We will be interrogating the victim’s friends, and a woman who had stayed with him before he died,” Kaewmulsuk said. “We urge the public not to jump to any conclusions until a complete examination has been done.”
According to media reports, Rex was either 34 or 35 years old. He was a native of Colorado who, according to reports, relocated to Thailand after divorcing his ex-wife, Lucie Colomb, last year.
Colomb said in a March 2018 request for a domestic violence restraining order against her ex-husband that Rex was “very verbally and emotionally abusive” to her and their 1-year-old daughter.
Rex’s “abusive behaviour,” according to Colomb, intensified when she fell pregnant in November 2021, especially after they discovered the child would be a girl rather than a boy. According to court documents, he then allegedly “alienated” Colomb from her friends and forbade her from leaving their apartment unless she first requested permission.
Rex allegedly sent Colomb some bizarre texts, including: “You should have lived to serve me instead of feeling sorry for yourself 24/7,” “I am happy with the way I treated you and believe you deserve much worse treatment,” and “I am happy with the way I treated you and believe you deserve much worse treatment…
You could do a lot worse. MUCH.”
At the time of his passing, Rex had 123,000 subscribers to his YouTube channel Leo and Longevity. nearly all of his videos
Rex’s most watched videos were about his quest to develop a “supraphysiological” penis, even though the channel also covered subjects including bodybuilding, experimental health supplements, steroids, and his experiences with various drugs, such as psychedelics.
