The 46-year-old Korean soprano vocalist Lee Sang Eun has passed away. According to reports, she was discovered dead in a restroom just before she was to perform at the Gimcheon Municipal Choir’s 33rd regular concert. There is an investigation going on right now.
Who is Lee Sang Eun?
One of the most well-known singers in the Korean entertainment sector is Lee Sang Eun. After graduating from Seoul National University, she pursued a master’s degree at the Mannes School of Music in New York.
The police are looking into her death, according to News1. Additionally, it stated that on Thursday at around 8:32 pm, an event staff member discovered the singer unconscious and summoned the police. She was supposed to play at Carmina Burana at the Grand Hall of the Gimcheon Culture and Art Center as part of a memorial event for the cultural exchange between England and Honam, and her body was found in the third-floor women’s restroom.
“It was time for Lee Sang Eun to come on stage, but she wasn’t backstage. When I looked in the bathroom, I found her lying on the floor,” Koreaboo quoted a staff from the night. The singer was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead reportedly. Meanwhile, reports also claim that police don’t suspect foul play in the matter.
