Jibran Nasir, a lawyer turned activist, has returned home nearly 24 hours after “going missing.” on Friday. While confirming the human rights activist’s return, the police also stated that they would soon be meeting the attorney.

Nasir’s wife, the actress Mansha Pasha, alleged last night that armed individuals abducted her husband from Karachi’s DHA neighborhood. Pasha explained the incident in a video statement posted on social media, saying it happened as they were returning home late on Thursday night after a late dinner.

Pasha, who was obviously shaken, narrated what had happened: “My husband Jibran Nasir, who is a renowned lawyer and has done much for the country, was abducted by some people.”

She claimed that about 15 armed men driving a white double-cabin car stopped to intercept their car. We were on our way (home) after dinner when a large white car stopped in front of us, almost causing a collision. There were about 15 people there, all carrying pistols. My husband was taken away by force.

On the Pasha’s complaint, Karachi police opened a “kidnapping” case against the attorney on Friday morning.

Pasha claimed that the police initially failed to file the FIR. If the police did not register the case, the actress threatened to move the court. She also asked for immediate action to be taken to ensure his speedy release in her application.

Widespread outrage was expressed by people from all walks of life over the activist’s abduction. In Karachi, a demonstration calling for the release of Nasir was also held in front of the press club.

While the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) denounced Nisar’s “kidnapping” and demanded that all lawyers who had been detained immediately be released.

The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Umar Ata Bandial, was urged to take notice of the situation by the Sindh Bar Council (SBC), which also denounced Nasir’s kidnapping.
