In a tragic farewell contact, a MISSING man told his friends that he “didn’t know where he was” before his cell phone mysteriously died.
In the early hours of October 30, 23-year-old Bryce Borca was last spotted along the Minnesota River in Eagan before going missing.
According to a police report acquired by Twin Cities Pioneer Press, he had been drinking on a party bus when he shared a ride with two friends at around 2am.
After getting out of the car, Borca reportedly started walking the two miles to his house.
But about 30 minutes later, from the woods, he FaceTimed his friends and admitted that he had no idea where he was headed.
The connection ended after 12 minutes because Borca’s phone’s battery was at 2%.
Since they were unable to reach him, his buddies think that his cell phone had died.
Police frantically started a search operation after learning from his cell phone records that he was heading in the direction of Highway 13 in the state.
One person apparently discovered a tie while walking along the path.
Cops searched the forest and discovered a Nike sneaker, though they claimed it didn’t match the description of the shoes he was wearing.
Detectives are still considering the object as potential evidence in their ongoing inquiry.
250 people scoured the neighbourhood in an effort to locate the missing man, but the search along the river has been called off.
This is never meant to happen to someone you know, according to his friend Abbie Dittman, who spoke to FOX9.
“It shocked me. Simply said, it’s unexpected that we haven’t discovered anything yet.
The family of Borca declared: “We are going through a tremendously trying moment right now, and our top priority is finding our kid.
“Our family would like to thank everyone involved in the search for Bryce, including the Eagan Police Department, County special operations, our friends, family, and countless volunteers.
“We are so very grateful for the outpouring of love and support from the community, and pray for Bryce’s safe return.”
