Much debate has arisen in Japan about a large metal sphere that appeared to have washed up on a beachside. According to a report by the Guardian, not only the police department but also a bomb squad was dispatched to look into the enormous mysterious metal sphere. The circular object’s identity has not yet been formally established by the police, according to the magazine, but any harm it may pose has been ruled out. The mysterious object was discovered near Hamamatsu, Japan’s Enshuhama Beach. The item has sparked a rush of speculative posts on social media while the inquiry is still ongoing.
Although others say it’s a mooring buoy, many people are referring to it as a huge turtle or Godzilla’s egg. Other people think it may also be something from space. The internet has been captivated by viral footage of the seaside city. It depicts two people who appear to be from a bomb squad inspecting the rusted item. A citizen reported the strange item on the coast to the authorities, which was 1.5m (or around 4.9 ft broad) in size.
To make sure the metal sphere was secure, it is said the officials ran X-ray tests and searched the vicinity. According to reports, the strange item will shortly be taken from the beach’s edge. A local runner on the beach told NHK in another report that she couldn’t tell what was causing the metal sphere to cause such a disturbance. It has allegedly been on the beach for approximately a month, according to the runner. He said, “I attempted to push it, but it wouldn’t budge.
The video’s caption reads, “A 1.5 meter sphere appeared on Tuesday at Enshuhama Beach in Hamamatsu, Japan. Police surrounded the area and cordoned off a perimeter of 200 meters until the type of metallic material was identified. The country’s Self Defense Forces were called in.”

It certainly looks like a steel buoy it even has the loop on the top for chain or rope.
Are we reaching peak insanity.

My question isn’t what it is, but how did it get there? I doubt the ocean would have moved something that large onto shore unless there was a major storm

I’m no expert, but it looks like a WW2 era Japanese naval mine, possibly a type 93. pic.twitter.com/xh5qYeu4po
