A brutal cold wave has gripped Pakistan. As the mercury has plummeted drastically, record-breaking temperatures have been observed from Sindh to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
It was the first time in many years that Lahore had a temperature decrease of that magnitude, according to Pak Weather, the country’s largest automated network of weather stations.
It should be emphasised that this is not Lahore’s record-low temperature. The all-time low temperature for Lahore is -2.2°C, which was registered in 1935.
After experiencing the coldest night of the winter on Sunday, Karachi awoke. At 0.7°C, mercury dropped. Malir Cantt reported this temperature.
Please take note that these are only record-breaking temperatures for Karachi this winter. In Karachi, 0°C was the lowest temperature ever recorded in 1934.
