Kristen Bell, her husband Dax Sheppard, and their two children were kicked out of Boston’s Logan International Airport after their aircraft was considerably delayed on Wednesday.
According to the couple’s social media posts, the renowned family spent $600 on pillows and linens to make makeshift mattresses on the airport floor when their aircraft was delayed for nine hours and there were no accessible hotels within 50 miles.
“Stranded at the Boston airport, 9 hours of delays,” Bell wrote on her Instagram story with a photo of her family and friends who were also traveling with them sitting at a gate.
The “Good Place” star explained that they were killing time by playing Uno and Spades before deciding to snuggle down with blankets and neck pillows — planning to remain the night after learning their flight’s departure had been rescheduled for the next day.
“We made quite a home here,” the actress captioned a photo of herself standing in the airport with a toothbrush hanging out of her mouth.
Shepard documented the ordeal on Instagram, noting that there were “ZERO vacancies in the greater Boston area.”
Bell quipped in the video that she should take her shoes off “when I’m in my bedroom” as she removed her sneakers and walked onto a sheet they had spread out on the airport floor.
The camera then pans to Shepard, who is laying on the floor with a neck pillow and blanket, as the two calculate how much money they spent on pillows, blankets, and sheets – about $600 between them.
“Could have been a really nice hotel, but they’re all taken,” Shepard said of their spent money.
“It’s $600 a night to stay at Boston International Airport,” Bell replied, laughing.
But after getting themselves all cozy and ready to sleep, the actress said they wanted to stay but “were kicked out” with no place to go late at night.
All was resolved when they found a place to stay with friends of friends, she said.
“Thankfully we found friends of friends who offered us their attics and accepted us at 1am!!!!!!” she captioned a pic of the beds in the attic on Instagram.
Many social media users commented on Shepard’s post saying they were surprised celebrities had to deal with the same travel headaches as everyday people.
“I truly don’t mean this to be mean but I didn’t think this stuff happened to rich people,” one person commented with a laughing emoji.
“I love that you guys are just normal f—king people,” another wrote in a reply that got more than 6,000 likes.
