On Sunday, October 9, 2022, Master Sergeant Kirby Overcash passed away, according to a Florida Highway Patrol announcement.
MSgt. Overcash, 62, died of medical issues while off-duty, according to FHP. He was assigned to Pasco County’s Troop K – Suncoast Parkway.
In 1986, Overcash joined the 75th Patrol Class in Tallahassee, where he started his FHP career. He was then promoted to the rank of Sergeant and assigned to Troop F in Naples after being transferred to Troop C in Pasco County.
Later, he returned to Troop C in Pasco County and finished his career there before joining Troop K in Suncoast Parkway.
His wife, two daughters, two grandchildren, sister, and mother all survive MSgt. Overcash.
On Saturday, October 15, at Hodges Family Funeral Home, memorial services will be performed in memory of Master Sergeant Kirby Overcash. There will be a public visitation from 1 to 2 p.m.
