The teenager had been reported missing for days when a Florida high school teacher Kelly Simpson was allegedly found hiding him inside her house, according to authorities.
The young person had been missing since Aug. 12 when authorities were attempting to find him, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. They were able to do so after receiving information from the boy’s parents that directed them to the home of instructor Kelly Simpson, 31, in Port Charlotte.
According to a statement sent to WFTX, the Charlotte County School District has since placed Simpson on administrative leave from her employment at Charlotte High School.
The statement read, “Charlotte County Public Schools takes an event like this very seriously.” “Our pupils’ safety, protection, and wellbeing are of utmost importance.”
