After a mother was discovered dead by her daughter, a family has spoken of their loss.
Kelly Gleeson, 40, spent the day throwing up and thought she had food poisoning when she went to bed one night.
The single mother dozed out around 6 o’clock just four days after Christmas and tragically never woke up.
Just an hour later, her daughter Madison, 17, went to check on her and discovered she was not breathing.
Paramedics arrived at the Greater Manchester residence as soon as the terrified family dialled 999.
The care home unit manager, however, was unable to be saved, and it was later discovered that she had passed away from a pulmonary embolism.
A pulmonary embolism happens when a blood artery in your lung is clogged, according to the NHS.
If not treated right away, it could be fatal.
Kelly’s husband Jerry spoke of his devastation as he promised to “look after our baby girl”.
He told Manchester Evening News: “My beautiful wife died and to say I’m heartbroken is an understatement.
“22 wonderful years we had together.
“I never stopped loving you and I will always love you.
“I promise I’ll look after our baby girl.”
Madison described her mum as her “best friend” and said she wants to give her the best send off.
“She did everything for me and bought me everything I ever wanted.”
Jade, Kelly’s sister, has since created a GoFundMe to aid with funding the funeral.
She said: “I am starting this GoFundMe page to give my sister the best send off she deserves.
“She was the most loving, most beautiful, caring person [and] always looked out for everyone else.”
