K-Electric (KE), Karachi’s sole power supplier, has published a statement regarding household clients who use 200 units or less of electricity.
The KE spokeswoman stated that on Friday, the 200 units below domestic clients received corrected electricity bills (tomorrow). Following the announcement by the federal government, the fuel price adjustment fees were taken out of the energy bills.
The modified electricity bill also extended the deadline for payment, allowing customers to make payments through August 30. For the issuance of the corrected electricity bills, clients might go to the customer service centres closest to them.
The customer service centres will be open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until 5:00 p.m., and they will be open until 8:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday as well.
The KE spokeswoman made it clear that the final deadline was only extended for the revised electricity bills, although the due date for the bills remained
Fuel price adjustment in phases
Yesterday, it was discovered that, despite its announcement to stop fuel price adjustments for 17 million users, the federal government has discovered a new way to rob power consumers of financial relief by levying exorbitant fees.
The federal government’s lofty promises to relieve citizens of their high electricity costs turned out to be a phantom. It became clear that power users using up to 200 units of energy would not entirely be exempt from the fuel price increase for June.
