Ryan Giggs has admitted in court that he is a serial love cheat, having lied to each of his partners, and that he is attracted to beautiful women.
He is currently facing charges of coercive control and abuse against his former partner Kate Greville. Additionally, her 26-year-old sister Emma is accused of assault.
Although the former Manchester United star has denied the accusations, he has acknowledged being a womaniser since taking the stand on Tuesday. After a night out on November 1, 2020, Giggs acknowledged that there had been a “tussle” over his phone.
Chris Daw QC, defending, introduced Giggs by saying: “You have a reputation for infidelity, what the newspapers call a love cheat?” “Yes,” Giggs replied.
“Is that justified?” Mr Daw asked. Giggs replied: “Yes.” Mr Daw said: “You’ve had relationships with many women, have you managed to be faithful to any of them?”
Giggs said: “No.” Mr Daw said: “If a woman shows interest in you are you able to resist?” Giggs said: “No.”
The former Wales manager has denied the charges against him, though he admits he might have accidentally caught his ex-girlfriend during a “scuffle”.
“I may have caught her and her sister during the scuffle but at no time was there any intent to harm either of them,” he said in his first prepared statement to the court, read out on Tuesday.
“We had been having an argument at the time and I accept I should not have done this but I was emotional, angry and upset.
“I was going to ring the police to ask them to attend to remove Kate as she would still not go. She grabbed me by the hand and a scuffle broke out. My hand was grabbed, it was still bleeding, and her sister was in close proximity.”

Giggs responded when questioned about their first encounter with Mr. Greville: “We got along incredibly well right from the beginning, we seemed to share the same interests. From the beginning, we just clicked.
Did you know she was married, Mr. Daw enquired? Yes, I did, Giggs said. Then Mr. Daw asked, “Did she know you were married?” Again, Giggs responded, “Yes, she did.” “Did you flirt with her?” Mr. Daw continued. “After the first few times of meeting her, I started flirting with her,” Giggs retorted.
The trial goes on.
