The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted Wednesday that Karachi would likely experience another period of rain with thunder and windstorms today afternoon or evening.
After a few days of oppressive heat, Karachi’s weather improved as it began to heavily rain on Monday. Given that the city experienced significant rainfall on Tuesday and is predicted to have further rains today, the wet weather appears to have continued.
According to the Met Department’s most recent meteorological report, a low-pressure system is continuing over Central India and may bring rain to parts of Karachi and upper Sindh today.
According to the forecast, Karachi’s weather will typically be hot and muggy all day long.
Up until September 15, rain and windstorms are predicted for Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad, Tando Allahyar, Jamshoro, Sujawal, Thatta, Umarkot, and Tharparkar.
Rain is unlikely to fall in Karachi today, according to weather expert Jawwad Memon earlier in the day.
Memon stated this morning that the monsoon winds under the current system are going in the direction of Thatta and Badin to the southeast. The presence of a low-pressure system in the high sky is less likely to bring rain to Karachi because the winds are not blowing in that direction, he noted.
Additionally, the meteorological expert claimed that dry winds from Afghanistan entering Balochistan and Sindh are lowering the likelihood of precipitation.
