Under the impact of the westerly winds that arrived in Karachi, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast a decrease in temperature in the city through January 17.
According to the weather report, northeastern winds are currently blowing throughout the city at a speed of 18 kilometres per hour.
A westerly system entered Sindh via Balochistan around this time, causing the temperature to dip as low as 3°C in some areas and 5°C in Karachi.
Today’s winds in the city could exceed 40 kilometres per hour, according to the weather service.
The city experienced frigid winds earlier in the day as a result of a severe cold wave that was predicted to last from January 12 to January 17.
The city’s temperature dipped to 17 degrees Celsius on Thursday morning as 35 kph winds blew through the area.
According to the weather service, the city will encounter winds of 35 to 40 kilometres per hour and a temperature range between 7 and 9 degrees Celsius in the upcoming days.
