As westerly winds approach Pakistan this week, precipitation is expected. Currently, this system is causing heavy rains in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, Iran, Yemen, and Iran.
The weather system is expected to last from March 16 to the first week of April, affecting various regions of the country, according to Pak Weather, Pakistan’s largest automated weather station network.
This is welcome news for residents of Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar, Quetta, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan, who have been struggling to cope with rising temperatures.
Temperatures in the country are already skyrocketing. However, the arrival of westerly winds will provide some relief from the sweltering heat, with temperatures expected to drop significantly after March 20.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted last week that rain would fall in most parts of the country during the first ten days of Ramadan.
The rest of the holy month, however, will see high temperatures across the country, according to the PMD.
