KARACHI: According to Chief Meteorologist Karachi Sardar Sarfraz, the metropolis will likely see another dry, chilly spell with no probability of rain beginning on January 21 and lasting till January 22.
He told the media that Tuesday’s minimum temperature increase of 3 degrees Celsius signals that the current cold snap is ending.
According to Sarfraz, the city would likely tremble from January 21 to 22 due to arctic winds coming from Balochistan. Around this time, north-easterly winds could blow more violently than usual. The Chief Meteorologist said that there is no possibility of rain during the new cold wave.
On the evening of January 18, this westerly wave will begin heading toward Balochistan. Balochistan will experience a fresh wave of westerly winds beginning today (Wednesday), according to the Meteorological Department’s Early Warning Center.
In Jacobabad, Qambar Shahdadkot, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Larkana, Sukkur, Ghotki, Khairpur, Dadu, and Noshero Feroz, there is a chance of drizzle and light rain on January 19 and 20. Additionally, it predicts a progressive reduction in the cold commencing (Wednesday).
On Tuesday, the city experienced lows as low as 9 degrees Celsius and highs as high as 26.2 degrees Celsius.
Balochistan witnessed daylong north-easterly winds with a top speed of 16 km/h.
There was some light fog in the morning, which decreased visibility to 3 km.
