Several areas of Karachi received heavy to light rain on Monday evening, making the city’s weather pleasant, , citing the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
Rain and thunderstorms are expected in the port city and other parts of Sindh beginning today, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The met office reported that a rain and thunder system had formed in Balochistan, bringing rain and thunder cells to parts of the city.
As a result, rain and hailstorms fell in several areas of Karachi, including Malir, Gadap, and Kathore, in the evening. Meanwhile, heavy rain fell on Gulshan-e-Iqbal and its surrounding areas.
Light rain was reported in Landhi, Korangi, and Shah Faisal Colony, while strong dusty winds blew in Baldia Town, Hub Chowki, and the surrounding areas.
Earlier in the day, the Met Office predicted rain and thunderstorms on the outskirts of Karachi on Monday (today), with a new westerly wave expected to enter Balochistan.
The current westerly wave continues to affect the majority of the region. According to the weather forecast, scattered dust-thunderstorm or rain of moderate intensity with isolated heavy falls and hailstorm is possible in Jamshoro, Thatta, Sujawal, Badin, Tharparker, Sanghar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad, Matyari, Tando Allahyar, and Tando Muhammad Khan districts.
According to the Met Office, another westerly wave is expected to approach south Balochistan on March 22nd.
The new weather system is expected to bring scattered dust-thunderstorms and rain of moderate intensity, with isolated heavy falls in some places, to most of Sindh’s districts on March 22-23.
