In the wake of the 11th International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS 2022) at the city’s Expo Centre, the Karachi Traffic Police (KTP) has released an alternative traffic plan.
IDEAS 2022 will take place from November 15–18, and it is anticipated that this event will cause traffic congestion on nearby roads.
Major arteries close to the Expo Center will be closed to heavy traffic, including commercial vehicles. Furthermore, such vehicles will be prohibited from using the road from Shahrah-e-Faisal to Sir Shah Suleman.
Therefore, the Drigh Road-NIPA Chowrangi route must be used by heavy traffic and commercial vehicles, and the area between Rashid Minhas Road and Dalmia Road will also be closed off.
Additionally, NIPA Chowrangi, Mazar-e-Quaid, the New Town Police Station, and Stadium Road will all be closed by KTP from both ends.
University Road will stay open, with the exception of the exit to the Shahrah-e-Faisal flyover from Hassan Square, according to KTP officials.
Additionally, Sir Shah Suleman Road will be closed to regular traffic from 7 AM to 6 PM in order to accommodate the event. Please take note that only vehicles with special entry stickers will be allowed entry into the Expo Center.
