The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) decided on Wednesday to extend gas outages for residents due to a shortage of gas supply that is affecting various facets of Karachi’s population, according to sources, citing a significant shortfall faced by the utility.
Due to a shortage, SSGC management decided to extend the gas outage for a little longer and also extended the suspension between 2 and 5 pm. Originally, the gas outage was scheduled to last from 11 pm to 6 am.
As a result, the City of Lights will need to load gas for a total of 10 hours.
Defense, Gizri, Landhi, Saudabad, Old City Area, Saddar, PECHS, Orangi, Gulshan-e-Maimar, Korangi, North Karachi, Malir, Model Colony, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, North Nazimabad, Surjani, Nazimabad, Liaquatabad, Gadap, and Kathore have all experienced total gas supply cuts since then.
The people of Karachi are now emphasizing the need for the Singh government and the Sui Northern Gas Authority to address the back-end gas supply issues because this additional load management plan is currently having a very negative impact on them.
