Jimmy Neesham dropped Imad at backward point on the final ball of the eighth over while he was on nine. In an over that contributed 14 to the total, Imad quickly put salt to the wounds by hitting left-arm wrist spinner Sufyan Muqeem for two fours on either side of Malik’s boundary.

However, he misplayed the fourth pitch, adding drama to the already tense game as the Karachi Kings scored on that delivery. However, the right-arm quick maintained composure and provided singles on the following two balls. Khurram had the last ball, but Imad had hoisted it for the six.

On-field umpire Alex Wharf declared Haris not out, but the decision was later reversed on review.
