Today, the Government of Sindh announced the route and price of the newly released buses and launched Pakistan’s first Electric Bus Service in Karachi under the Peoples Bus Service.
Sharjeel Memon, the Sindh Information Minister, made the news on Twitter and shared the route of the electric bus service that would begin running in Karachi today.
Karachi Electric Bus Service Route
Details indicate that the Electric Bus Service will use Khayaban-e-Ittehad to travel from Tank Chowk in Malir Cantt to Clock Tower Roundabout in Sea View Defense.
He stated that airport visitors might use the recently introduced Electric Bus Service.
Karachi Electric Bus Service Fare
Passengers must pay a fee of 50 rupees for the Karachi Electric Bus Service.
The transport vehicles will only operate on charging from solar energy plans established by the transport ministry, and the electric buses have the capacity to travel 240 kilometres on a single 20-minute charge.
Additionally, the buses can accommodate 30 passengers sitting down, 40 passengers standing up, and a separate area for those with disabilities.
It is important to note that the project was first announced in November and that the Sindh Government has kept its promise to upgrade the public transportation in the port city after years of neglect.
