After an argument turned violent, a woman allegedly shot her husband dead and livestreamed it on Facebook, according to police.
Officers from the Lowndes County Police Department arrested Kadejah Michelle Brown in the early hours of Saturday (March 25) after receiving reports of a domestic disturbance in her Mississippi home.
They discovered that the 28-year-old male victim, who also lived at the house, died as a result of a single gunshot wound.
According to police, the pair got into an argument that was captured on Facebook Live.
Police arrested Brown and returned a 9mm handgun and other “physical evidence,” according to a police statement.
Sheriff Eddie Hawkins revealed that the couple, who local media outlets reported were married, had a history of domestic violence, but no details about previous incidents were provided.
“This was a tragic and senseless murder and our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the victim,” the Sheriff said.
“Fortunately, Brown is in custody and we look forward to the criminal justice system holding her accountable.”
The alleged killer was taken to Lowndes County Adult Detention Centre. She will remain there until a bond is set.
Officials said they will continue to investigate the shooting while she awaits charges.
This comes after an Illinois woman discovered her husband’s mummified body in their “hoarder” home months after he committed suicide.
The body of her husband, Richard, was discovered hanging in a hidden, rarely visited storage area in a closet in their bedroom eight months after he went missing, according to the Daily Star.
Richard died by suicide, according to the coroner’s report, and his body had passed the stage of decomposition and had become mummified by the time he was discovered.
