A woman was struck by a train and fell off a bus, resulting in a horrifying freak event that claimed her life.
The bus Julia de Albuquerque Violato, 37, was riding on ended up on the train tracks while she was its route to donate clothing to a charitable shop in Brasilia, Brazil.
Viral video showed the horrifying moment a freight train slammed into the bus and began to hoot.
When the train is unable to stop in time, it is seen crashing into the bus’ side, killing the 37-year-old who was apparently sliced in half.
Violato got flung out of the bus window and was run over by the train, according to Fire Department officials.
Violato’s devastated mother described her daughter as “fearless and courageous.”
“It was my love. Julia was the youngest, she lived with me and was my companion,” Ana Rosa told local media.
“We did everything together. She was my best travel companion.
“She took care of me, because, despite being an active person, I am elderly. She always said she didn’t want to die before me. She cared about me a lot and loved me so much. I don’t know how I’m going to live without her.”
Three people were injured: one had a significant head injury and was sent unconscious to the hospital; another had abrasions on their arms and face; and a third had a head injury and fractures.
According to reports, the bus driver suffered a nervous breakdown and was in shock.
The area was blocked off by authorities, and the mishap is still being investigated.
