A “future world champion” boxer, who passed away suddenly at the age of 19, has received tributes from family and friends.
Bristol resident Jude Moore was discovered dead on March 17, according to his family.
The youngster represented England at the 2017 EUBC Junior European Championships in Romania and was a two-time national champion.
After defeating the Polish national champion in his first senior match, Jude was scheduled to compete in Milan this week.
Jude’s Downend Boxing head coach, Craig Turner, remarked: “He was an absolute star, irreplaceable.
“Once you met him, you would never forget him.
“The fact that he came from one of the most deprived wards in Great Britain to do what he did and achieved what he did is nothing short of amazing.
“He was outstanding at everything he did and we are devastated.
“He didn’t burn for long, but he burned very brightly for the time he did.
“He was an entertainer and boxing is an entertainment business.
“That’s why I am sure he would have gone on and won a world title.”
Jude’s parents, Mark and Carla, as well as his brothers, Ethan and Beau, are supported by a GoFundMe set up by the gym, which has already raised £6,000.
Jude was a highly gifted and physically fit 19-year-old boxer who was tragically taken from us on March 17, 2023, according to the fund’s webpage.
“His parents, Mark and Carla, and brothers, Ethan and Beau, currently have no answers as to what happened to this larger-than life character.
