Jolissa Fuentes’ mom believes her daughter is still alive but in danger as search teams comb the region where her cell phone last rang.
Jolissa Fuentes, 22, hasn’t been seen since early on August 7 when a petrol station’s CCTV camera saw her getting out of her car to buy food.
Since then, her mother, Norma Nunez, her relatives, and the local community have been feverishly searching the region, which is located approximately 16 miles south of Fresno, for leads.
“I definitely think she’s a victim of a crime,” Nunez told The U.S. Sun on Monday. “I strongly believe someone has her.
“But I don’t think she’s dead. I don’t feel that. Her grandma doesn’t feel that.
“I think she’s in trouble and she needs us to find her.”
After Adventures With Purpose (AWP) verified there were no evidence of Jolissa in Selma’s lakes, which is the last location her phone pinged, the extensive search operation changed course.
The lakes were combed last Thursday and Friday by AWP, the Oregon-based volunteer diving search team that discovered missing girl Kiely Rodni and her truck in the water.
They didn’t discover any proof, though, that Jolissa was submerged.
Her mother stated, “She’s not in the water.” However, we are currently searching the region and the mountains between Selma and Sanger.
