While fishing, a man from Essex John Charles Clayden was discovered dead in a Scottish lake. John Charles Clayden, 72, of Colchester, was on vacation in Scotland fishing when several local anglers tragically discovered him dead in a lake.
The opening of the inquest into Mr. Clayden’s death took place on Friday, September 9, at the Essex Coroner’s Court in Chelmsford’s Seax House. The court was informed that Mr. Clayden is thought to have drowned in the lake.
The fisherman spotted Mr. Clayden in the lake and hauled him out, but regrettably he passed away, the court heard during the inquiry. In Scotland, a post-mortem investigation was performed to determine the medical cause of death.
The post-mortem determined that the deceased died as a result of drowning, a heart attack, and excessive blood pressure. On October 7 at Essex Coroner’s Court, a documentary inquest into Mr. Clayden’s passing will take place.
