The Nebraska Panhandle longtime broadcaster’s passing was reported by Gray Media Group on Thursday morning.
Before retiring in 2018, Jerry Dishong spent 51 years providing television coverage for the Scottsbluff region.
We regret to inform you of Mr. Dishong’s demise, the business stated in a release. “He held a variety of posts over the years.”
Dishong attended Chadron State College while growing up in Gordon. In 1966, he began working as a broadcaster for KDUH in Hay Springs. When KDUH relocated to Scottsbluff in 1980, he and his family would follow.
In 2016, Dishong was admitted into the Hall of Fame of the Nebraska Broadcasters Association.
