A FARMER was killed after being assaulted by a bull, which was shot by police.
Jerry Altman died at the age of 64 as a result of the heinous attack.
Altman, from Parkers Prairie, Minnesota, some 150 miles southwest of Minneapolis, was identified as a victim of an animal assault on Monday.
According to Lakeland PBS, the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint on Saturday night of an adult being assaulted by a bull at a farm near Altman’s hometown.
According to the outlet, when police arrived, they killed the bull in an attempt to save Altman.
Altman, on the other hand, died on Saturday as a result of the attack on his farm, according to his obituary.
Altman’s “true love was farming and family,” according to his obituary.
He grew up on a family farm and married his wife Leicia Halstead in 1984.
They then raised two children together on the farm.
“Jerry enjoyed watching NASCAR, was especially fond of ice fishing, and watching old western movies,” his obituary read.
