A man in Arizona stopped a passing cop just after midnight last week to confess to killing someone and then showed the deputy where the victim’s body was.
Following an apparent confession to the crime at one in the morning in the middle of a McNeal, Arizona street, 52-year-old Jay Albert Stevens was detained and charged with first-degree murder. Thursday, according to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office.
When Stevens waved down a deputy, the cop was standing in the Central Highway roadway. When the officer stopped to check on him, the deputy heard him say that he had just shot and killed a man.
He then directed police to a house where they found a 61-year-old man’s dead.
He was taken into custody by deputies at the site and accused of first-degree murder. He was lodged in the Cochise County Detention Center.
