After being found guilty of poisoning his kids with yoghurt because their mother had met someone new, a wicked father was sentenced to 60 years in prison.
In the Bolivian city of La Paz, a criminal court heard how Javier Hernández Rojano, 37, had informed his ex-partner that he intended to take the kids, who were ages seven and four, to buy new shoes.
Instead, Rojano returned to his home with his children and contaminated their yoghurt with liquid insecticide before giving it to them.
Before experiencing excruciating stomach problems, the father consumed the poisonous cocktail himself.
He was in critical condition when he arrived at the local police station, where he admitted to killing his kids and received medical attention.
Rojano spent several weeks recovering in intensive care, and during that time he apologised to his family for killing his children.
According to detectives, the father told authorities that his ex-new wife’s relationship with someone led him to decide to kill his children.
“The father gave the victims insecticide after a fit of jealousy because his former partner and mother of the minors had a relationship with another person,” police stated.
Teachers from the Technical Agricultural Education Institute, where the kids went to primary school, were in charge of the protests.
